I don't know if it's understandable or not but, if I'm honest, I really don't feel in the mood for this piece of mock-Oscar nonsense this year.

Partly, the thought is that my energies have simply been elsewhere this year and so the material is just not available to make the format worthwhile. Partly, the thought is that simply my energies are elsewhere.
However, just to keep the tradition alive, I'm going to simply offer up the things that I've liked best without any rationales behind the decisions.
