Appointment Time
31 October

This has been a time of doctor's and vet's appointments.

First, the animals. Well, Nutkin was limping and that turned out to be a shoulder strain most possibly caused by an awkward fall or jump. Then we've had the saga of Jemima's pussy eye. This has turned out to be a sort of cat cold (she's now sneezing as well) so she's on antibiotics and she's managed to pass the conjunctivitis on to Nutkin, who now has eye drops as well.

I've also been to the doctor's for my regular status check. I've elected to remain on medication for the time being. My last meeting occurred just a the previous partner training company pulled out of the project I work on. The last three months has been incredibly hard work; a challenge that I have risen to certainly but it hasn't been a quiet period.

I feel that I have managed that period well and have grown through it. But I would now like some period of time settling in and settling down before I come off the medication. I feel as good as I have in ages and I would like it to remain that way.

That said I have also been subject to the foulest of head colds this week. I've been sensible and worked from home for a couple of days. It seems to have gone down on my chest and has produced the juiciest cough that I have had in a very long time.

The cold also got in the way of my spending a lot of time with my parents, Linda and Mary. I met my sister and niece of the train at Lime Street on Monday and had lunch with them. I stayed a little while and then left as I felt increasingly hot and bothered.

Stage Beauty Ross and I did manage a quick trip to the cinema midweek to see Stage Beauty, which is a very superior costume drama set in the theatre land of Restoration England. It is a meditation upon gender, illusion, fame, art and ambition. And Billy Crudup is absolutely beautiful. Four stars and no mistaking. [Four Stars - Excellent]

Aside from that and snotty handkerchieves, it has been a week of sitting at home watching television.

A Thing Called Love One bright spot, Paul Nicholls got his ass out at last in A Thing Called Love.
