First Kill
5 August

Over the weeked I remarked to Ross that, although Nutkin generally protected us from all manner of flies and bees and spiders, there was little sign yet of any rodents.

Ross put it down to the fact that the small furry creatures are mostly nocturnal and our Nutkin, still being a relatively young chap, is ushered indoors overnight.

Well, right on cue, on the garden path this afternoon, was the corpse of Nutkin's first kill - a wee mouse.

So, he's blooded himself.

He didn't seem particularly excited by the corpse and mostly ignored it rather than proudly displaying it for us. No doubt we have the joys of eviscerated and mangled bodies yet to come.
