Two Amazing Days
28 February

Saturday I chilled and then it was off to Epsom to my sister Linda's to meet up with the family and celebrate Grace and Albert's 50th Wedding anniversary.

The day went well. Gill and Robert attended. Robert was introduced to my cousin Joe as my son. I made a speech which was well received. The presents and cards were appreciated. There was a display of family photographs from 1950.

Come the evening and it was back to my house for the ageing Ps and a light meal of poached salmon and new potatoes.

The following day, we'd arranged to go to The Millennium Experience with Ross. It was the first time they'd all met up though they have spoken on the phone many times over the past three years and more.

We took the Jubilee line extension from Canary Wharf over to Greenwich. It was the first time that Ross had been on a tube for over two years.

The Dome itself is very spectacular inside and out. I fully recommend it though, by arriving late, we didn't get the best out of it. It is very meretricious in that it has a mission to educate and it is very South East biased in its displays and examples. However, I would certainly go again.

In fact, I might enjoy a second visit more without the responsibility of two aging Ps and a partner in a wheelchair.

There was a moment when I caught the eye of a teacher with a party of 8 year olds and I will swear that we both had the same harassed look in our eyes. If came to the point where I suggested that we all split up for a short while.

However, it was all well in the end and, as the ads say, an amazing day.
