Buttocks on TV
15 January

The tottey quotient on TV has definitely increased since Christmas.

I've already extolled Luke's arse in Footballers' Wives and JJ Martinez in House Invaders. But there's more.

I checked and I don't think I've ever mentioned how much I like Farscape. It seems to me to be one of the few truly twistedly intelligent pieces of television on at present. Completely off the wall sci fi. And it is graced by Ben Browder as Commander John Crichton.

Ross and I like Ben Browder. If the fan sites on the Web are anything to go by so do a number a young women out there.

We think he takes a good part.

We also like the way he wears tight leather trousers and how there is always one shot per episode where his buttocks are cross-lit in order to emphasise their dimpled loveliness.

We also hail the return of As If. Last season was consistently well scripted with believable young people uttering believable dialogue in believable situations. It was sassy, smart and sharp. The boys were scrummy and wore form hugging costume often enough to maintain interest. This season looks as though it will continue in the same vein.

Dune Poster Ross and I have also spent time watching videos of the Sci Fi Channel's production of Frank Herbert's Dune. Apparently it covers events from the first three novels in the Dune series. I was mostly unmoved. However, if you thought of the Fremen as Palestinians, Baron Harkonnen as the Israelis and the Emperor as the USA, then it became much more interesting.

William Hurt graced the production with dignity. Best performance overall was Ian McNeice as Baron Vladimir Harkonnen. Are there no fat character actors in the USA these days?

Matt Keeslar in Dune Matt Keeslar in Dune Top of the tottey list was Matt Keeslar who played Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, evil nephew to the Baron. He took may opportunities to disrobe and show us how long he had been working on his body down at the gym. We were grateful for his largesse. The full length dorsal nudity was particularly appreciated.

And it's Footballers' Wives again tonight.

I am feeling well enough to return to work tomorrow. Let's hope I don't add wrist strain to my list of maladies. *Roll your eyes*
